Zusammenfassung

The University of Zurich invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow to join an interdisciplinary team in neuroscience, metabolism, and translational obesity research. The position offers collaboration across laboratories and access to state-of-the-art facilities at the University of Zurich.

You will plan and perform in vivo mouse experiments, analyze data, contribute to manuscripts and talks, and co-supervise Master’s and PhD students.

Qualifikationen

The project will involve approximately 70% in vivo and 30% in vitro/ex vivo work.

The postdoctoral fellow will join an interdisciplinary environment at the University of Zurich, with opportunities to collaborate across neuroscience, metabolism, and translational obesity research.

Your responsibilities

• Plan and perform in vivo experiments in mouse models of metabolic disease.
• Analyze, interpret, and present experimental data.
• Contribute to manuscript preparation and scientific presentations.
• Co-supervise Master's and PhD students.

Your profile

Applicants should hold a PhD in biomedicine, neurobiology, neuroscience, neurophysiology or a closely related discipline, with demonstrated research experience in one or more relevant areas. We are looking for someone with the following skills:

Required experience

• Mouse handling and experimentation;
• Stereotaxic surgery and/or other relevant in vivo procedures;
• Research experience in systems neuroscience and/or energy homeostasis (i.e., feeding).
• Excellent command of oral and written English.

Desirable experience

• in vivo calcium imaging or ex vivo electrophysiology;
• Metabolic phenotyping;
• FELASA B certificate (European authorization for animal experimentation) would be an advantage.
