Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Senior Technical Tendering Specialist to shape the energy transition by leading technical bid preparation for strategic opportunities in Renewable and Offshore AC markets. You will act as a technical authority, collaborating with cross-functional teams to craft winning proposals and manage technical risks.

Responsibilities include defining scope, evaluating supplier quotations, and driving reviews with governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in project execution, engineering, system design, lead engineering, commissioning, or a comparable technical role.
• Ideally 2+ years of bid management, proposal engineering, tendering, or a customer-facing technical role.
• Strong understanding of substation automation, protection and control systems, and AC substation applications.
• Experience working with complex customer specifications, contractual requirements, and technical risk assessments.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to ~10%.
• Excellent communication skills in English; additional European language skills are considered an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical tendering activities for large-scale, high-value, and strategically important opportunities within Renewable and Offshore AC market.
• Prepare competitive and technically optimized system proposals, including solution design, cost estimation, and supplier quotation evaluations.
• Define technical scope, identify project risks and opportunities, and support the development of winning bid strategies.
• Coordinate and drive internal tender reviews, risk assessments, and approval processes in alignment with governance requirements.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and competitive proposals within agreed timelines.
• Act as a technical advisor to Sales and Business Development during customer discussions and bid negotiations.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, supply chain, and commercial teams to develop optimized customer solutions.
• Evaluate supplier and subcontractor offerings, ensuring alignment with technical specifications and project requirements.
• Lead and coordinate global, multidisciplinary proposal teams across multiple locations and business units.
• Support continuous improvement of tendering processes, tools, and best practices across the organization.
• Mentor and support junior tendering professionals to strengthen organizational capabilities and knowledge sharing.
