Job summary

SGI is seeking a Senior Commercial P&C Insurance Expert for a 3–4 month project in Switzerland. The role focuses on reviewing and refining the Commercial P&C offering for Swiss SMEs, with emphasis on risk appetite, underwriting guidelines, product structures, and operational underwriting processes.

The candidate should bring several years of Swiss SME/Commercial Insurance experience, with strong expertise in underwriting and risk assessment, and the ability to work independently from day one.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in the Swiss SME / Commercial Insurance market.
• Strong hands-on background in Underwriting, Technical Underwriting or as a P&C Insurance SME.
• Deep knowledge of Property and/or Casualty insurance.
• Strong understanding of commercial risk assessment and underwriting.
• Experience with risk appetite frameworks, underwriting guidelines, limits and deductibles.
• Good knowledge of the Swiss insurance market and its underwriting practices.
• Ability to work independently with minimal onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Review and further develop the P&C risk appetite framework.
• Assess and enhance the SME commercial insurance product offering.
• Review underwriting guidelines, limits, deductibles and steering principles.
• Assess coverage concepts, facility agreements and framework contracts.
• Analyze current underwriting practices, processes and workflows.
• Identify improvement opportunities and provide practical recommendations.
• Document processes, recommendations and work instructions.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Sales, Business Development and management stakeholders.
