Job summary

Hitachi Energy AG seeks a Senior System Engineer (SCADA/RTU) for Substation Automation in Baden, Switzerland. You will design and integrate SCADA systems for high- and medium-voltage substations, applying IEC standards and common protocols, taking technical ownership from concept to commissioning.

You will lead system development, participate in FATs, and support commissioning and service interventions across Switzerland, focusing on cybersecurity and network architecture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Automation Engineering, or comparable qualification.
• Min 5 years of experience in power automation, substation automation, SCADA or RTU systems.
• Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols, network architectures, and cybersecurity in critical infrastructure environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement SCADA systems for HV/MV substations using IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104/101/103, Modbus, DNP, OPC.
• Develop system and network architectures; integrate RTU, gateway, protection, and automation into complex plant environments.
• Configure Ethernet-based networks and implement project-specific functionalities and software applications.
• Execute FATs to ensure high system quality; support commissioning and service interventions in Switzerland.
• Collaborate with project management, sales, suppliers, and internal teams for successful project execution.
