Job summary

Energy supply is seeking an experienced engineer to design and implement SCADA systems for high- and medium-voltage substations, covering engineering, testing and commissioning support.

The role involves designing, validating and delivering SCADA solutions, coordinating RTU/gateway/protection integration, and supporting FAT and customer trainings on site in Switzerland. English is essential; German is an advantage.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in power automation or substation automation.
• Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols, network architectures and cybersecurity.
• Experience with IEC 61850-based systems and integration of protection, control and automation.
• English proficiency; German is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Develop system and network architectures integrating RTU, gateway, protection and automation systems
• Configure Ethernet-based communication networks and project-specific software applications
• Execute system, integration and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
• Support commissioning activities and service interventions at customer sites in Switzerland
• Take technical ownership within projects and advise customers on automation solutions
• Prepare technical specifications, system concepts and test documentation

Profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Automation Engineering or comparable
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in power automation, substation automation, SCADA or RTU systems
• Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols, network architectures and cybersecurity
• Experience with IEC 61850-based systems and integration of protection, control and automation systems
• Knowledge of MicroSCADA, RTU500 or IET600 is an advantage
• Experience in technical project coordination, FAT, commissioning and customer training
• Excellent English language skills, written and spoken; German is an advantage but not required
