Job summary

Try&Hire in Switzerland is seeking a seasoned SCADA engineer to design and implement substation automation systems. You will develop architectures, configure Ethernet networks, and lead FAT/tests while supporting on-site commissioning for customers in Switzerland.

With 5+ years in power automation and IEC 61850 experience, you will own projects, advise clients on solutions, and prepare specifications and test docs. 80–100% workload; on-site work; potential permanent position after assignment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power/Automation engineering or comparable.
5+ years of experience in power automation, substation automation, SCADA or RTU systems.
Strong knowledge of industrial protocols, networks and cybersecurity.
Experience with IEC 61850-based systems and integration of protection, control and automation.
Knowledge of MicroSCADA, RTU500 or IET600 is advantageous.
Good project coordination, FAT, commissioning and customer training experience.
Excellent English; German is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Design and implement SCADA systems for substations using relevant communication protocols.
Develop system and network architectures integrating RTU, gateway, protection and automation systems.
Configure Ethernet-based networks and project-specific software applications.
Execute FAT and system integration tests; support commissioning activities at customer sites.
Take technical ownership within projects and advise customers on automation solutions.
Prepare technical specs, system concepts and test documentation.
