Job summary

UBP - Union Bancaire Privée in Geneva seeks a Senior Middle Officer – External Portfolio Manager Oversight to ensure smooth operational oversight, accurate controls and timely issue resolution within the Middle Office Asset Management function.

The role requires strong knowledge of fund structures, investment operations, financial instruments and regulatory requirements, with responsibility for process improvement and reporting enhancements across the team.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of relevant experience in Asset Management, Investment Operations, Fund Accounting or related roles.
• Strong knowledge of investment operations, fund accounting processes and alternative investments.
• Good knowledge of regulatory frameworks including EMIR, UCITS and AIFMD.

Responsibilities

• Review NAV calculations from fund administrators and external managers, investigate discrepancies and ensure timely resolution.
• Review investment book P/L and investigate movements, valuation differences and material variances.
• Monitor share class performance and hedging ratios; verify related calculations.
• Validate management, performance fees and fund expenses; oversee billing elements.
• Oversee risk and regulatory reporting; monitor capital activity.
• Co-ordinate onboarding of new funds, share classes and external managers.
• Review fund documentation, operating models, fee arrangements and cash-flow processes.
• Validate setup/testing of new processes, controls and reporting requirements.
• Review invoices; ensure discrepancies are investigated and resolved.
• Monitor collateral and derivatives margin, including margin calls and reconciliations.
• Liaise with external managers, fund administrators, custodians, brokers and internal teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain documentation and audit trails for controls, investigations and remediation actions.
