Job summary

Pilatus Aircraft Ltd is seeking a Principal Engineer in Flight Physics Simulation to lead a group of flight physics specialists. You will coordinate flight modelling, ground dynamic models, and atmospheric models for Flight Simulation Training Devices and ensure compliance with EASA, ICAO, and FAA qualifications.

The role requires a Master in Aeronautical Engineering, 10+ years of C++, Python, and MATLAB/Simulink experience, and willingness to travel internationally.

Qualifications

• Master degree in Aeronautical Engineering or similar with focus on flight physics and complex systems.
• Experience in people management, via lateral leadership roles.
• 10+ years of experience with C++, Python and MATLAB/Simulink, and integration of models in training devices.
• Experience with Flight Simulation Training Devices qualification frameworks (EASA, FAA, ICAO).

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate a group of flight physics specialists on Flight Simulation Training Device qualification support and flight modelling.
• Oversee and approve design and production of simulation software of physical and systems of trainer aircrafts, including flight models and autopilot models.
• Ensure models comply with training device qualification requirements (EASA, ICAO, FAA) and maintain the QT Guide.
• Support Team Leader in budget and resources planning.
• Support bid preparation and related development cost estimations.
• Assist after-sales technical activities as required by the customer support team.
