Recrutis is supporting one of its clients, a leading biopharmaceutical manufacturing site in the canton of Valais, in the search for a Senior Engineering & Maintenance Expert for the construction and commissioning of new biopharma facilities. The role is positioned as future Head of Plant Engineering for those facilities.

Key information

• Location: canton of Valais, Switzerland — 100% on site, 5 days per week (knockout).
• Contract: consulting mission on capital investment projects, from feasibility and basic design through qualification.
• Languages: English and German at professional working level, both used daily (knockout).

Scope

• Act as engineering and maintenance lead from feasibility, conceptual and basic design: equipment standardisation, pipe classes, qualification approach and maintenance strategy.
• Act as the interface between investment engineering (Global Engineering, contractors) and operations, with main responsibility for utilities input.
• Deliver the engineering and qualification input required for construction, commissioning and qualification of the new facilities.
• Implement a cost-efficient preventive and predictive maintenance strategy aligned with the wider site, and define with the Operations Heads the operating organisation and headcount ramp-up.
• Contribute to GMP and safety risk assessments as a member of the Plant Engineering Leadership Team.

Profile — Required criteria (knockout)

• BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Automation.
• Proven track record as plant engineering and/or maintenance lead in a GMP biopharma or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
• Hands‑on experience of capital investment projects through design, construction, commissioning and qualification.
• Practical command of maintenance strategy and concepts, including preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Working knowledge of clean and black utilities for biopharma facilities.

Differentiators: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, greenfield or major brownfield facility start-up, equipment standardisation and pipe class definition programmes, leadership of cross‑functional teams in a plant engineering structure.
