To strengthen our team in Visp we are looking for a Senior Engineering & Maintenance Expert.
The Role:
The Senior Engineering & Maintenance Expert acts as an Engineering & Maintenance Expert lead in Capital investment projects for biopharma facilities. Mainly responsible for delivering all input required for engineering, qualification and maintenance of the future facilities. (equipment standardization, pipe classes, qualification approach, maintenance strategy). Acts as future Head of Plant Engineering during the initial engineering phases and provides leadership to cross-functional teams.
Location: Visp, Onsite (5 days a week).
Your Accountabilities:
- Acts as an Engineering & Maintenance Expert lead in Capital investment projects for construction and commissioning of biopharma facilities. Supports feasibility studies, conceptual and basic design phases as future Head of Plant Engineering of those facilities.
- Act as the interface between the investment-engineering organization (Global Engineering, Contractors) and operations. Main responsible for delivering all input required for utilities.
- Responsible for delivering all input required for the use of Engineering and Qualification tools for construction, commissioning and qualification of biopharma facilities
- Responsible for implementing the Maintenance strategy, standards and concepts in the new facilities in alignment with the whole client site. Focus on cost-efficient preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Collaborates with the Operation Heads on defining & setting-up the operations organization and respective headcount ramp-up plans for the facilities.
- Drives the ambition level in the design of the facilities by incorporating innovation, operational improvements and other aspects influencing the manufacturing, maintenance costs. Shares experience from an operational and process point of view with the design team.
- Supports the implementation of organisational culture via openness for change and new ideas, cooperative teamwork and continuous improvement even outside the own area of responsibility
- Supports the preparation of GMP and Safety risk assessments and introduces expertise into these risk analyses.
- Supports the future production and project teams in all questions of plant engineering, maintenance and utilities.
- As a member of the Site Plant Engineering Leadership Team responsible for all aspects representing their area.
Your Qualifications & Competencies
- BSc in the field of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Automation .
- Proficiency in both English and German.
- Provide strong leadership and accountability, driving high performance while aligning team priorities with business objectives.
- Lead multiple complex engineering and maintenance initiatives in a biopharma manufacturing environment, ensuring successful delivery and operational excellence.
- Act as a recognized technical expert, leveraging deep knowledge of engineering, maintenance, business, and financial processes.
- Foster a collaborative and learning-oriented culture, promoting knowledge sharing, team development, and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate structured, proactive, and solution-oriented decision making, effectively managing ambiguity and prioritizing escalation when needed.
- Build strong relationships across all organizational levels, communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders and working closely with cross-functional teams.
