GXP CONSULTING Switzerland in Visp, Switzerland seeks a Senior Engineering & Maintenance Expert to lead the engineering readiness of next-generation biopharma facilities. You will shape the engineering foundation and oversee design, qualification, and commissioning to ensure GMP compliance and reliability.

You will bridge global teams, define maintenance strategies, and drive continuous improvement while partnering with Operations on ramp-up and organizational readiness.

Qualifikationen

• BSc or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation or related discipline.
• Significant experience in engineering, maintenance, and/or capital projects within biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of plant engineering, utilities, equipment, maintenance, qualification and GMP requirements.
• Proven ability to lead complex multidisciplinary engineering initiatives and influence decisions across boundaries.
• Structured, proactive, solution-oriented approach with sound decisions in complex environments.
• Strong business and financial awareness and impact of engineering on performance and cost of ownership.
• Collaborative leadership style with ability to develop teams and engage stakeholders.
• English and German proficiency; Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is a plus.

• Shape future facilities from the start, providing engineering and maintenance leadership across design, construction, commissioning and qualification.
• Bridge engineering and operations, serving as interface between global teams, contractors, and future manufacturing organizations.
• Define the engineering foundation of facilities, including equipment standards, utilities, qualification approaches, and tools.
• Build maintenance strategy for the future with scalable preventive and predictive concepts aligned with site standards.
• Influence facility design and investment decisions with an operational perspective to improve reliability and total cost of ownership.

• Champion innovation and continuous improvement, introducing new technologies and ways of working.
• Embed safety and quality by design, contributing to GMP, safety and risk assessments.

We are looking for a Senior Engineering & Maintenance Expert to play a pivotal role in the development and readiness of next-generation biopharma facilities in Visp, Switzerland.

Working across engineering, operations, qualification, maintenance, and project teams, you will bring your technical expertise into the early design phases and help define how the future plant will be engineered, operated, qualified, and maintained.

You will act as the future Head of Plant Engineering during the initial engineering phases, providing technical direction and leadership while ensuring that the facility is designed for safety, GMP compliance, reliability, efficiency, and long-term operational performance.

Your impact :

• Shape future facilities from the start, providing engineering and maintenance leadership across feasibility, conceptual design, basic design, construction, commissioning, and qualification.
• Bridge engineering and operations, acting as a key interface between global engineering teams, contractors, and future manufacturing organizations.
• Define the engineering foundation of the facilities, including equipment standards, pipe classes, utilities, qualification approaches, and engineering tools.
• Build the maintenance strategy for the future, establishing scalable and cost-efficient preventive and predictive maintenance concepts aligned with site standards.
• Influence facility design and investment decisions by bringing a strong operational perspective and identifying opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, sustainability, and total cost of ownership.
• Prepare the organization for operations, partnering with Operations leadership on organizational design, capabilities, and workforce ramp-up.
• Champion innovation and continuous improvement, challenging conventional approaches and introducing new technologies, standards, and ways of working.
• Embed safety and quality by design, contributing engineering expertise to GMP, safety, and risk assessments.
• Lead through influence, bringing together multidisciplinary teams and ensuring alignment across engineering, operations, projects, maintenance, and qualification.
• As a member of the Plant Engineering Leadership Team, contribute to the broader engineering strategy and long-term performance of the site.

What you bring :

• BSc or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in engineering, maintenance, and/or capital projects within a biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of plant engineering, utilities, equipment, maintenance, qualification, and GMP requirements.
• Proven ability to lead complex, multidisciplinary engineering initiatives and influence decisions across organizational boundaries.
• A structured, proactive, and solution-oriented approach, with the ability to make sound decisions in complex and ambiguous environments.
• Strong business and financial awareness, with an understanding of how engineering decisions impact manufacturing performance and total cost of ownership.
• A collaborative leadership style, with the ability to build trust, develop teams, and engage effectively with both technical and senior stakeholders.
• English and German proficiency.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a plus.
