Zusammenfassung

GXP CONSULTING Switzerland is seeking a Senior Manager Maintenance Engineering to lead engineering and maintenance activities for major CAPEX biopharmaceutical facilities, from concept through qualification and operations readiness. You will coordinate Engineering, Operations, Maintenance and external contractors, define maintenance strategies, and drive cost-effective reliability improvements.

Qualifikationen

• BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation or related engineering discipline.
• Significant experience leading complex Engineering and Maintenance activities within a biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of plant engineering, maintenance strategies and their integration into major CAPEX projects.
• Ability to operate as a technical expert while considering operational, business and financial aspects.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and work with Engineering, Operations, external contractors and other stakeholders.
• Structured, proactive and solution-oriented approach to manage priorities in complex projects.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management across organizational levels.
• Proficiency in English and German.

Aufgaben

• Represent Plant Engineering & Maintenance throughout feasibility, conceptual and basic design phases of major capital investment projects.
• Provide operational and technical input for the engineering, construction, commissioning and qualification of new biopharmaceutical facilities.
• Act as a key interface between project engineering organizations, contractors and future operations teams.
• Define and implement maintenance strategies, standards and concepts, with emphasis on cost-efficient preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Contribute to equipment standardization, engineering standards, utilities requirements and qualification approaches.
• Support the implementation and use of Engineering and Qualification tools during construction, commissioning and qualification.
• Work with Operations leadership to define the future organization and headcount ramp-up.
• Challenge facility design by integrating operational experience and continuous improvement for manufacturing efficiency and cost control.
• Contribute to GMP and Safety risk assessments.
• Provide engineering, maintenance and utilities expertise to future production and project teams.
• Contribute to cross-functional engineering leadership and knowledge sharing.

Your Mission

You will take a leading Engineering & Maintenance role within major CAPEX projects for new biopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, contributing from the early engineering phases through construction, commissioning, qualification and preparation for operations.

Acting as a key interface between Engineering, Operations, Maintenance and external contractors, you will ensure that future operational and maintenance requirements are properly integrated into the facility design from the outset.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent Plant Engineering & Maintenance throughout feasibility, conceptual and basic design phases of major capital investment projects.
• Provide operational and technical input for the engineering, construction, commissioning and qualification of new biopharmaceutical facilities.
• Act as a key interface between project engineering organizations, contractors and future operations teams.
• Define and implement maintenance strategies, standards and concepts, with particular attention to cost-efficient preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Contribute to equipment standardization, engineering standards, utilities requirements and qualification approaches.
• Support the implementation and use of appropriate Engineering and Qualification tools throughout construction, commissioning and qualification activities.
• Work closely with Operations leadership to support the definition of the future organization and associated headcount ramp-up.
• Challenge facility design by integrating operational experience, innovation and continuous improvement opportunities, with a focus on manufacturing efficiency and maintenance costs.
• Contribute technical expertise to GMP and Safety risk assessments.
• Provide engineering, maintenance and utilities expertise to future production and project teams.
• Contribute to cross-functional engineering leadership and promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Your Background

• BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related engineering discipline.
• Significant experience leading complex Engineering and Maintenance activities within a biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of plant engineering, maintenance strategies and their integration into major CAPEX projects.

• Professional proficiency in English and German.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification would be an advantage.
