Roche in Basel seeks a Senior or Principal Scientist to join the crystallization and solid state development teams. You will develop and scale up novel crystallization and precipitation processes, collaborating with chemistry, formulation, and production to ensure purity and polymorph control.

The role requires strong expertise in crystallization, filtration, drying, and solid-state chemistry, with a focus on driving research and implementing new technologies in a cross-functional setting.

Qualifikationen

• Ph.D. in a relevant field with pharma industry experience or MSc with 7–15+ years.
• Proven expertise in end-to-end crystallization, filtration, and drying.
• Strong polymorphism knowledge and solid-state chemistry background.
• Experience with process optimization and cross-functional collaboration.
• Fluency in technical English; German skills are advantageous for regulatory work.

Aufgaben

• Design, optimize, and scale crystallization and isolation processes.
• Define design spaces and operating ranges for robust drug substance quality.
• Collaborate across chemistry, analytical development, and production.
• Drive digital transformation and apply modeling to improve processes.
• Author technical reports and regulatory filing sections; support filing activities.
• Lead matrix teams and coordinate with vendors and academic partners.
• Expand unit operations with milling, spray drying or co-processing.
• Share findings and drive adoption of new technologies.
