Job summary

Xebia in Zurich is seeking a senior Data & AI engagements lead to drive end-to-end delivery for enterprise clients in Switzerland. You will partner with teams across Switzerland, Poland, and India to turn ambitious data initiatives into practical solutions, while shaping new opportunities and service line growth.

The role blends consulting, delivery leadership, and hands-on design across GenAI, Databricks platforms, and advisory work, with a focus on financial services.

Qualifications

• 6-9 years in Data & AI, including at least 3 years in client-facing consulting.
• Background in Data & AI engineering or architecture with enough depth for client conversations.
• Experience owning delivery of a Data & AI engagement with nearshore/offshore teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead Data & AI engagements end-to-end, owning scope, budget, governance, client steering and escalations.
• Coordinate Swiss, nearshore, and offshore delivery teams and review outputs for quality and alignment.
• Contribute hands-on to delivery, from advisory and architecture to technical design and implementation.
• Translate business needs into practical Data & AI solutions across strategy, data platforms, GenAI, and managed services.
• Shape new opportunities within existing accounts with account managers and sales, contributing to proposals and service-line initiatives.

Job description

Location: Zürich (hybrid)

Your Mission

You will lead Data & AI engagements for enterprise clients in Switzerland, with a focus on Financial Services, combining strong technical understanding with consulting and delivery leadership. Working closely with our teams in Switzerland, Poland, and India, you will help clients turn their Data & AI ambitions into practical solutions while contributing to new opportunities and the development of our Data & AI service line.

Your Responsibilities

• Leading Data & AI engagements end-to-end, taking ownership of scope, budget, project governance, client steering, and escalations.
• Guiding and coordinating Swiss, nearshore, and offshore delivery teams and reviewing their output to ensure quality and alignment with client expectations.
• Contributing hands-on to delivery yourself, from Data & AI advisory and solution architecture to technical design and implementation where it adds the most value.
• Working directly with client stakeholders and decision-makers to translate business needs into practical Data & AI solutions across strategy and advisory, data platforms on Databricks (including Xebia AXIS), Agentic Data Foundations, GenAI, and agentic AI, and seeing them through from production into managed services.
• Identifying and shaping new opportunities within existing client accounts in close collaboration with Account Managers and Sales, and contributing to solution design, proposals, statements of work, effort estimates, staffing plans, and service line initiatives such as offerings, accelerators, and demos.

Your Superpower

• 6-9 years of experience in Data & AI, including at least 3 years in client-facing consulting.
• A background in Data & AI engineering or architecture, with sufficient technical depth to have client conversations, shape solutions, validate estimates, and review the work of nearshore and offshore teams.
• Proven experience owning the delivery of a Data & AI engagement with a nearshore or offshore team, including scope, budget, escalations, and client steering.
• Experience working directly with decision-makers and driving Data & AI programs from business case through to delivery.
• Experience contributing to proposals and estimates.
• Fluent in German; Swiss German is a plus.
• EU/EFTA citizenship or an existing Swiss work permit.
• Existing client connections or relevant experience in financial services firms.

Nice to have:

• Experience with financial services clients in Switzerland.
• Experience with legacy data warehouse migrations to Databricks.
• Databricks certification, or willingness to obtain certification within 3-6 months.
• Experience contributing to practice building, for example through offerings, accelerators, talks, or mentoring.
