Job summary

Syngenta Crop Protection AG Forschung & Entwicklung invites applications for a Scientific Expert in Disease Control Computational Biology. You will lead computational and systems-level biology projects, integrating multi-omics data with AI/ML to accelerate discovery and product support across discovery to field-ready solutions.

You will mentor scientists, shape roadmaps, build data pipelines, and ensure data integrity and compliance, while collaborating across global teams in a values-driven

Qualifications

• PhD with substantial post-PhD experience at the interface of disease biology and computational/data science.
• Experience deploying computational, statistical or machine-learning approaches in biology.
• Ability to shape research strategy and roadmaps with portfolio relevance.
• Experience translating complex biology into product development or regulatory decisions.
• Fluent written and spoken English; German language skills are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific leadership for computational disease-control biology and accelerate discovery.
• Integrate multi-omics data with AI/ML to generate decision-ready insights.
• Design robust experiments to validate predictions across lab, greenhouse, and field conditions.
• Build reusable data pipelines, standards, and platforms; ensure data integrity and compliance.
• Mentor scientists and foster collaborations while ensuring reproducibility and IP protection.
