Job summary

Syngenta's R&D Center in Stein, Switzerland, is seeking a Ph.D.-level scientist in Crop Protection Chemistry to design and synthesize novel bioactive ingredients for crop health. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to advance sustainable solutions and embed digital and AI elements into discovery workflows.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Organic or Medicinal Chemistry with strong synthesis experience.
• Experience with bioactive small molecules and SAR understanding preferred.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to research projects, applying state-of-the-art programs to identify and optimize novel bioactive ingredients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to drive sustainable crop protection solutions.
• Advance project delivery through molecular design, physical organic chemistry, and SAR analysis.
• Formulate and test data-driven hypotheses, integrating empirical and predictive data for multi-parameter optimization.
• Drive scientific advancement by applying cutting-edge skills and fostering continuous learning.
• Embed digital, data, and AI capabilities into workflows to accelerate discovery and improve decision-making.
