Job summary

Angst+Pfister is seeking a Senior CAE Engineer to provide advanced CAE services and support for customers and internal teams. You will perform nonlinear FEA/FSI with Abaqus, Fe-Safe, Isight, Tosca, and Star-CCM+ and contribute to elastomer and molding process simulations.

You will calibrate material models via physical testing and share knowledge across an international network, giving technical trainings and coaching new engineers. Fluency in English and Mandarin is required; German is a plus.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with focus on FEA or CFD is required.
• PhD in Mechanical Engineering with the same focus is a plus.
• Hands-on background (3+ years) in advanced CAE simulation (Abaqus, Fe-Safe and Linux HPC CAE job scheduling) in an international environment.
• Experience calibrating/validating material models through physical testing (elastomers, plastics, metals, adhesives).
• Knowledge of DFMs and using virtual simulations to optimize manufacturability and reduce costs.
• Background in CFD, mold design, molding processes and elastomer characterization tests is a plus.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Fluent English and Mandarin; German a plus.

WHAT YOU DO

• Provide advanced CAE engineering services and technical support to customers and internal stakeholders across different product groups and business units.
• Perform non-linear static/dynamic Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Fluid-Structure interaction (FSI) simulations using Abaqus, Fe-safe, Isight, Tosca and Star-CCM+.
• Analyze, design and simulate molding processes for antivibration and sealing products.
• Calibrate, verify and validate material models through physical testing.
• Collaborate with international teams, deliver engineering presentations and technical trainings/seminars to customers or internal parties, actively participate and contribute to engineering meetings, and act as coach for new employees or students.
• Support marketing activities with engineering documentation for catalogues, brochures and product-application magazine articles.

YOUR PROFILE

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with focus on FEA or CFD is required. PhD in Mechanical Engineering with same focus is a plus.
• Hands-on background (3+ years) in advanced CAE simulation (e.g. Abaqus, Fe-Safe and Linux HPC CAE job scheduling) gained in a cross-cultural and international environment.
• Experience in the calibration, verification, and validation of diverse material models - including elastomers, plastics, metals, soft adhesives, and brittle materials - through physical testing. Further experience in testing using Universal Testing Machines, Dynamic Mechanical Analysis and Digital Image Correlation is desired.
• Expertise in leveraging DFM principles alongside virtual simulation to optimize manufacturability, minimize material waste, and reduce overall design-to-production costs.
• Background in CFD, mold design, molding processes, process development and elastomers characterization tests is a plus.
• Ability to promote continuous improvement while achieving the desired results.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Professional fluency in English and Mandarin is required. German language is a plus.
