Job summary

HITACHI ENERGY LTD is seeking an SCM Engineering Specialist to bridge Engineering, R&D, SCM, and suppliers. You will ensure supply chain considerations are integrated into product development, enabling optimized sourcing decisions and successful launches.

You will coordinate SCM activities in development projects, translate requirements into sourcing solutions, and drive supplier selection and logistics concepts that support business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in SCM or related field.
• Several years of experience in SCM, Strategic Sourcing, Procurement Engineering, Category Management, or Project Management.
• Experience supporting R&D, product development, or industrialization projects in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of supplier management, sourcing strategies, and cost optimization.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate SCM work packages and activities within R&D and product development projects.
• Interface between project teams and SCM stakeholders for alignment.
• Own SCM project documentation and ensure timely submission of deliverables for gate approvals.
• Provide input on costs, lead times, quality, and supply chain risks to support decision-making.

• Experience supporting R&D, product development, or industrialization projects in a manufacturing environment.


• Strong understanding of supplier management, sourcing strategies, and cost optimization.


• Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into effective sourcing solutions.


• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project coordination skills.


• Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
