Zusammenfassung

Climeworks is seeking a Science Manager for nature-based solutions to ensure alignment with high-quality standards for carbon removal. You will focus on ARR, IFM, and Mangroves, vetting projects, refining assessment criteria, and partnering with sourcing to shape nature credits and product positioning.

You will assess projects for additionality, measurability, carbon accounting, and risks, while leading framework development and market intelligence efforts across geographies.

Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., environmental sciences, ecology, forestry, geography).
• PhD is a plus.
• Work experience in nature-based solutions, project assessment or MRV.
• Experience in carbon markets or removal projects is a strong plus.
• Ability to manage multiple datasets with scientific rigor.

Aufgaben

• Quality assessment framework development for nature-based pathways.
• Supplier assessment, monitoring and due diligence of projects.
• Classify and segment projects into sub-pathways and archetypes.
• Map project universe and provide market insights for pathway strategy.
• Support contracting with vetted suppliers and partner development.
• Collaborate with Science, Sourcing and Commercial teams on strategy.
• Assist in customer conversations and RFP responses with project insights.
• Educate stakeholders on scientific developments and market evolution.
• Communicate clearly in English; maintain strong cross-functional alignment.
