Job summary

The Nashua School District is seeking a dedicated Behavior Technician to support students with behavioral and developmental needs District Wide. You will implement individualized BIPs, support academic, social, and communication skills, and help manage behaviors in the classroom with BCBA supervision.

You will work closely with special education teams, teachers, and related service staff, collecting data and collaborating on progress.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of 40-hour ABA Modules within 90 days of hire.
  • Experience with students with autism, developmental disabilities, or behavioral challenges is required.
  • Knowledge of applied behavior analysis principles.
  • Strong communication skills to work with students, teachers, and staff.
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and flexible in challenging situations.
  • Willingness to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to assist with physical activities such as lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Implement BIPs in school under supervision of BCBA/teacher.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support.
  • Teach social, communication, and daily living skills using evidence-based strategies.
  • Collect and record data on student behavior and progress.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to integrate behavior strategies.
  • Support students in unstructured settings (recess, lunch, transitions).
  • Maintain student confidentiality and follow school policies.
