Job summary

Jobgether, listing on behalf of a partner company, seeks a Mechanical Engineering Expert (MSc or PhD) to work remotely from Switzerland on an AI training project in engineering design, modeling, simulation, and coding-heavy tasks.

You will translate physical requirements into models, develop simulations, validate results, and contribute to AI training and evaluation with independent contractor flexibility and a 12-month, part-time engagement (approximately 15 hours per week).

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals.
• Experience in analytical, computational, or simulation-based solutions.
• Understanding of design, modeling, simulation workflows, and validation.
• Ability to translate requirements into mathematical or computational representations.
• Familiarity with simulation concepts: geometry, meshes, materials, loads, BCs, contacts, solver.
• Proficiency with AI coding agents in workflows.
• Strong coding and problem-solving skills with computational tools.
• Independent work capability and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Solve mechanical engineering problems across design, analysis, simulation, and R&D.
• Translate physical requirements into analytical or computational models.
• Develop, modify, and evaluate meshes for simulation tasks.
• Configure materials, loads, boundary conditions, contacts, and solver inputs.
• Conduct simulations across structural, thermal, mechanical, and multiphysics domains.
• Evaluate results against physical principles and design constraints.
• Create, review, and refine tasks to support AI training.
• Apply coding-intensive workflows to automate engineering processes.
• Use AI coding agents to support problem-solving and validation.
• Identify errors or limitations in models and propose corrections.
