Job summary

Cisco, now part of Isovalent, is seeking a Technical Lead for backend services to guide a team of engineers building scalable workload security solutions. You will shape architecture, improve scale and reliability, and ensure robust security across distributed components.

You will own API design, telemetry processing, and latency-sensitive endpoints, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with product and security teams to deliver high-impact features for modern cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9+ years building software systems in Go, C++, or Java.
• Technical leadership experience and agile software development background.
• Bachelor's degree with 11+ years, Master's with 9+ years, or PhD with 4+ years (or equivalent).
• In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of relevant professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and architectural direction for backend services.
• Collect and process telemetry at scale from multiple data sources.
• Design and implement low-latency API endpoints for large data volumes.
• Work within a highly distributed system environment with robust security focus.
