Job summary

Embotech in Zurich is seeking a C/C++ Software Engineer for the Safety Perception team. You will develop real-time LiDAR perception, ensure precise calibration, and move features from concept to verified release with documentation and tests.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in CS, EE, robotics or equivalent.
• 3+ years of professional C and modern C++ development.
• Hands-on LiDAR data processing experience.
• Strong 3D geometry, coordinate transforms and sensor calibration.
• Experience with Linux/POSIX and UDP/TCP/CAN networking.
• Git, CI/CD and automated testing; Rust or Python a plus.
• Experience in regulated software development (ISO 26262 / ISO 13849).
• Rigorous, self‑organised, owning team player with good English.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and optimise real-time LiDAR perception algorithms.
• Own LiDAR calibration and misalignment detection algorithms.
• Take safety perception features from concept to release: requirements, algorithm design, implementation, tests, documentation and reviews.
• Develop according to our safety development process with traceability from requirements to tests.
• Write unit and integration tests and simulations covering safety requirements.
• Conduct formal code reviews and write safety relevant code.
• Improve software patterns for deterministic memory handling, warning and error management.
• Support continuous integration, vehicle testing and internal and external customers.
