Job summary

Leica Geosystems is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to strengthen our data-modelling platform team in Switzerland. You will shape the C++ core, including domain models and persistence, and work in a test-driven, AI-enabled environment to deliver reusable platform components across the portfolio.

The role emphasizes modern C++, data modelling expertise, and collaboration within an agile setup. German is a bonus, and the team values curiosity, quality, and pragmatic AI adoption.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience building production software in modern C++ (C++17 / C++20).
• Strong grasp of data modelling, data structures and persistence concepts, with applied experience of Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Daily use of AI coding assistants for code generation, testing, debugging and documentation with prompt engineering.
• Modern, test-driven development in an agile environment with automation.
• Version control with Git and CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions or similar).
• Ability to express opinions constructively and align with team decisions.
• Fluent in English; German is a plus.
• Champion AI adoption balancing quality, security and maintainability.

Responsibilities

• Shape the C++ core of the data-modelling platform, including domain models, containers and persistence.
• You will work in a test-driven, agile environment with strong quality gates and AI tooling.
• You contribute to architecture decisions and promote maintainability and reuse across products.
