Job summary

Acuity is seeking a Software Engineer, Robotics to join our Zurich team. You will advance the perception and decision-making stack behind Q-SYS VisionSuite, combining Python and C++ in production with ML models and real cameras.

Hybrid work in Zurich, collaborating with ML engineers and senior staff to implement robust perception, testing, and real-time behavior improvements in the system.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience in perception, robotics, or computer vision.
• Strong Python and C++ (C++17+) in production environments.
• Experience integrating ML models into live applications with inference flows.
• Knowledge of computer vision fundamentals, object tracking, and camera geometry.
• Experience with multithreading and real-time constraints.
• Comfort developing on Linux and validating with data-driven tests.
• Familiarity with ROS, TensorRT, OpenVINO, Docker, and CI/CD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and extend perception and decision-making stack in Python and C++.
• Integrate new ML models into the perception pipeline and data flow.
• Test models in the running system focusing on tracking, framing, latency, and stability.
• Tune thresholds, filtering, and state handling based on model outputs.
• Build test tooling, datasets, and replay harnesses for reproducibility.
• Implement multithreaded and performance-sensitive components interfacing with cameras.
• Collaborate with ML Engineers and senior staff to inform model selection.
• Contribute to code reviews and maintain high code quality.
