Job summary

Sonova Group in Switzerland is seeking a Power Management Engineer to advance battery and power systems for hearing instruments and charging solutions. You will work across hardware, firmware, and software to optimize energy efficiency and extend device lifetime.

The role combines electronic design, battery innovation, and embedded software in a dynamic environment, with a strong focus on PMIC integration, state-of-charge estimation, and robust system-level power models.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
• Experience designing power management for low-power embedded devices.
• Strong knowledge of battery technologies, aging effects, and energy optimization.
• Hands-on electrical characterization and data-driven validation.
• Proficient Python for data analysis; MATLAB a plus.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize battery and power management systems for hearing devices and charging solutions.
• Specify, integrate, and validate PMICs and related power conversion architectures.
• Define battery management algorithms including SOC and SOH estimation and charging behavior.
• Collaborate with hardware and firmware teams for robust integration.
• Develop models for power consumption and battery behavior under different conditions.
• Diagnose complex power-related issues and drive root-cause resolution.
• Stay informed about emerging power technologies and drive process improvements.
• Evaluate new energy management concepts for future product generations.
