Job summary

Roche is seeking a Software Engineer (Platform TechOps Lead) to provide senior technical leadership for the operation, reliability, and lifecycle management of Scientific Computing platforms across AWS, hybrid contexts, and HPC environments.

The role drives automation, tooling, observability, and runbooks, while guiding L3/L2 support, upgrades, and migrations. Collaboration with engineering and support teams will ensure operational readiness and knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in computer science, engineering, computational science, or related field.
• 4–7 years of relevant professional experience with a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent.
• Experience with cloud and on‑prem environments, AWS and Linux systems.
• Experience leading complex production platforms or infrastructure services.
• Scripting in Python/Go/Bash plus infrastructure-as-code tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical leadership for operation, reliability, and lifecycle management of Scientific Computing platforms.
• Lead L3 and selected L2 support, drive automation and improvements.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate work with contractors.
