Job summary

Try&Hire is seeking a senior technical leader to oversee the operation, reliability and lifecycle management of scientific computing platforms across cloud and hybrid infrastructure in Basel.

You will drive L3 platform operations, build automation and observability, and provide architectural direction for AWS, on-premises and hybrid environments, while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
• 4-7 years of relevant professional experience
• Strong experience with Amazon Web Services and Linux systems, networking, storage and distributed systems
• Experience leading technical discussions and coordinating work across multiple contributors
• Software development or scripting experience in Python, Go or Bash; Experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools
• Experience with containers, orchestration and CI/CD or GitOps practices

Responsibilities

• Lead complex L3 and selected L2 platform operations and continuous improvement
• Build automation, tooling, observability, monitoring and alerting capabilities
• Provide technical leadership for AWS, on-premises and hybrid compute, storage and networking
• Participate in incident response and root cause analysis
• Support data lifecycle, access, identity and integration requirements
• Provide technical direction and mentoring to junior engineers and contractors
