Merck in Vaud, Switzerland, is looking for an experienced Automation Engineer to join the Operations Technology unit. You will design, commission and support automated systems at a pharmaceutical manufacturing site, collaborating with Engineering, Maintenance, Production and QA.

The role demands five years of automation experience, deep DCS knowledge (Yokogawa CENTUM VP, Emerson DeltaV) and proficiency in fieldbus technologies.

Qualifikationen

• University degree in Automation Engineering, Process Engineering or a related field.
• At least five years of experience in industrial automation.
• Strong knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), especially Yokogawa CENTUM VP and Emerson DeltaV.
• Good knowledge of electrical engineering, electronics, instrumentation and fieldbus technologies (Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus, Profinet).
• Experience in commissioning, troubleshooting and maintaining instrumentation, actuators and VSDs.
• Basic knowledge of Ethernet TCP/IP communication.
• Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken, with flexibility, rigor, autonomy and ability to work under pressure.
• Knowledge of process automation systems including Siemens S7, AVEVA System Platform Galaxy and AVEVA Batch is a plus; pharma/chemical industry experience is desirable.

Aufgaben

• Provide technical support, troubleshooting, design, development and commissioning of automated systems for the pharmaceutical manufacturing site.
• Receive training and become autonomous in the role's main responsibilities.
• Support Production, conduct technical investigations, deliver projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Production and Quality Assurance.
• Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Join on-call service after training for a few days per month.
• Contribute to reliability, performance and continuous improvement of automation systems.
