The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is seeking an Interpreter to enable accurate and confidential communication in sensitive contexts. The role focuses on real-time oral interpretation between Pashto/Dari speakers and English, within detention settings and IHL-related discussions.

Qualifikationen

• English (C1) proficiency required.
• Pashto and/or Dari at C1 level required; Pashto preferred.
• Knowledge of additional ICRC languages is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Interpret orally from Pashto/Dari to English and vice versa during confidential interviews with people deprived of liberty, ICRC institutional dissemination, and related activities.
• Translate Pashto/Dari language materials into written English and vice versa, when needed.
• Analyze conditions of detention, security and humanitarian environment, and other matters relating to the ICRC mandate.
• Provide support on other protection activities as needed.
