The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is seeking an Interpreter for field deployment in Iraq. This role centers on facilitating accurate and meaningful communication between ICRC delegates, detainees, authorities and affected communities, with emphasis on confidentiality and sensitivity in protection activities.

• Excellent command of English (C1) required.
• Excellent command of Kurdish (C1) required.
• Proficiency in other ICRC languages is a strong asset.
• 2 years of professional interpreter or translator experience.
• Able to work under pressure in potentially dangerous environment.
• University education in interpretation or translation is an advantage.

Aufgaben

• Oral interpretation between ICRC delegates, detained persons, authorities, and communities.
• Written translation of Burmese language materials into English as needed.
• Analysis and reporting on conditions relevant to ICRC mandate.
• Provide support on other protection activities as needed.
