Job summary

NIL Technology is seeking a Mechanical Systems Engineer to strengthen the Modules team in Seehallen Horgen, near Lake Zürich. You will build CAD models, define optomechanical design, and help turn demonstrators into professional, product‑like devices for customer meetings.

The role requires hands-on work across optics, electronics, and manufacturing. You will collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to deliver robust, manufacturable modules and demonstrators.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years as a mechanical or optomechanical development engineer in a high-tech, optical or consumer electronics environment
• Experience with production drawings and GD&T
• Experience with injection molding for consumer electronics is a plus
• Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes like CNC, 3D printing and surface finishing

Responsibilities

• Define the optomechanical design of optical modules, including lens and sensor holders
• Create 3D CAD models, assemblies and 2D production drawings with GD&T
• Perform tolerance stack-up analyses and assess impact of tolerances and thermal effects
• Support demonstrators and prototypes from concept to final assembly
• Collaborate with suppliers and external manufacturers to ensure on-time delivery
• Design jigs, fixtures and alignment tools for module assembly and optical tests
