Job summary

Avacone is seeking a Microsoft 365 Engineer to operate, secure, and improve our Microsoft 365 environment. You will collaborate with infrastructure, security, and business teams to deliver reliable collaboration and productivity services.

Your scope includes administration, automation, security, and workplace modernization, with opportunities to contribute across service administration and migrations as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience administering Microsoft 365 services in an enterprise environment.
• Working knowledge of Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive.
• Familiarity with Entra ID, authentication, and access management.
• Understanding of licensing and user lifecycle management in Microsoft 365.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Understanding of security fundamentals, MFA, least privilege, and data protection.
• Knowledge of DNS, SMTP, TLS, and email technologies.

Responsibilities

• Administer and optimise Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive.
• Manage user identities, groups, licences, and access with security teams.
• Support identity integration with Entra ID and Active Directory, including hybrid environments.
• Maintain mail flow, shared mailboxes, distribution groups, and email security configurations.
• Configure collaboration services, external sharing, and guest access.
• Implement and enforce security and compliance policies for Microsoft 365.
• Monitor service health, troubleshoot incidents, and coordinate with Microsoft support.
• Automate tasks and reporting using PowerShell and Graph.
• Contribute to migrations, service enhancements, and rollout of new capabilities.
• Coordinate testing, communication, and implementation of changes.
• Maintain documentation and operational procedures.
