Job summary

STAAR Surgical Switzerland is expanding with a new Nidau site and seeks a Manufacturing Engineer (100%). The role runs 12/2026–12/2027 and involves cross-functional work on lens manufacturing processes.

You will apply SPC, DOE, and IQ/OQ/PQ to qualify tooling and equipment, train operators, and ensure quality and productivity improvements in STAAR ICL production. Fluency in English plus German or French is required.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required.
• German or French as mother tongue with excellent English skills (oral and written).
• Analytical and problem-solving skills essential.
• Experience in medical device/pharma field is a plus.
• Project management experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and optimization of lens manufacturing processes and systems.
• Apply project management to ensure on-time completion of tasks.
• Assess processes for adequacy of methods, equipment and documentation.
• Apply SPC, Gage R&R, and DOE for process understanding.
• Establish test methods, observe and measure, and report findings.
• Develop manufacturing controls and documentation.
• Train technicians and operators on protocols and procedures.
