Job summary

International Executive Service Corps is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the Nidau and Brügg sites in implementing, expanding and sustaining STAAR ICL manufacturing processes. You will help develop processes, apply SPC and other methods, and work in an international team to improve productivity and quality.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree required.
  • Very good English skills (oral and written); French or German desirable.
  • Experience in the medical device industry.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work in international teams, flexible and autonomous.
  • 1-3 years of working experience; medical industry experience desired.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and sustaining Collamer lens manufacturing processes to improve productivity and quality.
  • Apply project management to define, plan, and document tasks for on-time completion.
  • Assess processes for adequacy of methods, equipment and documentation.
  • Apply SPC, R&R, and DOE statistical methods.
  • Establish test methods, collect data, and write technical reports.
  • Develop manufacturing controls and documentation.
  • Acquire and qualify new tooling, equipment and processes (IQ, OQ; PQ).
  • Train technicians and operators on protocols and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

OBJECTIVE AND MAIN TASK OF THE FUNCTION

The Manufacturing Engineer assists in the implementation, the expansion and sustainability of the ICL manufacturing processes at the Nidau and Brügg site.

TASKS

A) Process Engineering

  • Assist in the development, implementation, expansion and sustaining of various Collamer lens manufacturing processes and manufacturing systems to improve productivity and product quality of STAAR ICL products.
  • Apply project management skills to ensure that tasks are appropriately defined, planned and documented to ensure on-time completion.
  • Assess processes for their adequacy of methods, equipment and documentation.
  • Apply statistical and analytical methods such as SPC, R&R Gage and DOE
  • Establish test methods, make observations and measurements, interpret data and write technical reports.
  • Develop manufacturing controls and documentation
  • Acquire and Qualify new tooling, equipment and processes (IQ, OQ; PQ)
  • Train technicians and operators as necessary for protocols and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

Education: Engineering degree

Special Knowledge: Very good English skills (oral and written), French or German desirable

Experience in the medical device industry

Experience in project management

Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)

Personality: Analytical and problem-solving skills

Able to work in international teams, flexible and autonomous

Professional Experience: 1-3 years of working experience, medical industry experience desired
