Job summary

STAAR Surgical is expanding with a brand-new manufacturing site in Nidau, Switzerland, seeking a (Senior) Quality Engineer to support cross-functional quality activities. You will lead equipment qualifications, validations, and technical studies, while collaborating with production, maintenance, calibration, and QA teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in a related field and 2+ years of quality engineering experience (senior: 5+ years).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, mechanical, life sciences or industrial engineering.
  • 2+ years in quality engineering; senior: 5+ years.
  • Excellent English, other languages are an asset.
  • Proficient IT skills (MS Office, eQMS, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Kneat is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the Kaye Validator System is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support site production, operations, maintenance, calibration and quality teams.
  • Lead equipment qualifications, validations, and related studies/reports.
  • Initiate change assessments and impact analyses.
  • Manage equipment lifecycle requirements and impact assessments.
  • Represent quality during investigations and audits.

Job Description

In this position, you will work across multiple tasks within our growing Quality Team.



  • Support site production, operations, maintenance, calibration and quality teams

  • Prepare, execute, review and lead equipment qualifications and validations, technical studies, test method validations and other studies/reports

  • Initiate and lead change assessments and impact assessments.

  • Manage equipment lifecycle requirements and impact assessments

  • Serve as the quality representative during product or process investigation and during external and internal audits


Your profile


  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, mechanical, life sciences or industrial engineering

  • Minimum two years' experience or advanced degree with three years of experience in quality engineering, in the medical device or pharmaceutical industries. For Senior Position, minimum five years' experience or advanced degree with three years of experience.

  • Excellent English skills, both spoken and written. All other languages are an asset

  • Proficient IT Skills (e.g. MS Office, eQMS, etc.)

  • Very flexible and adaptable to change with ability to work under pressure

  • Responsible, team oriented and well-organized personality

  • Knowledge of the Software Kneat is a plus

  • Knowledge of the Kaye Validator System is a plus
