Job summary

MSF Switzerland is seeking an Associate Philanthropy Advisor for private major donors in German-speaking Switzerland. The role focuses on cultivating, stewarding and upgrading a portfolio of donors giving CHF 10,000–CHF 20,000 annually, in close collaboration with the Team Coordinator and MSF leadership.

You will manage donor journeys, coordinate visits, and ensure smooth communications and pledges while contributing to income forecasting within the philanthropy unit in Zurich.

Qualifications

• University degree in a relevant area.
• Strong writing and editing abilities.
• Excellent in oral public presentations.
• Solid knowledge of Windows environment (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of humanitarian and development sector in Switzerland.

Responsibilities

• Actively contribute to the implementation of the yearly plan.
• Cultivation and stewardship of donors.
• Manage a portfolio of Major Donors and design donor journeys for gifts between CHF 10’000 and CHF 20’000 annually.
• Report to Team Coordinator on strategy for donor pool upgrades.
• Plan and facilitate donor meetings, calls and presentations.
• Collaborate with MSF spokespeople and field staff to engage donors with MSF’s mission.
• Organise visits to MSF offices and projects.
• Ensure donor journeys comply with MSF gifts acceptance policy.
• Maintain donor database and draft communications for major donors.
• Forecast income with Team Coordinator and participate in quarterly results analysis.
• Engage in MSF Community of Practice for Individual Major Donors.
