Job summary

Syngenta Group, a global leader in agricultural technology, invites a Principal Scientist I to join the CPR Chemistry team at the Stein R&D Center in Switzerland. You will design and synthesize novel bioactive ingredients for crop protection and advance projects with internal and external experts.

Strong leadership and English communication are essential to drive milestones across global collaborations. Ideal candidates hold a PhD in Organic or Medicinal Chemistry with deep synthetic expertise

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or Medicinal Chemistry; postdoctoral or industry exposure is a plus.
• Deep expertise in synthetic organic chemistry; experience with bioactive small molecules.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary scientific teams and drive milestones.
• Excellent command of English for communicating complex results.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to research projects applying state‑of‑the‑art chemistry.
• Collaborate with local and global experts to advance crop protection solutions.
• Advance project delivery via molecular design, SAR analysis and synthesis.
• Formulate data‑driven hypotheses and validate them experimentally.
• Embed digital, data and AI capabilities to accelerate discovery and decision making.
