Kempinski Hotels in St. Moritz, Switzerland, seeks an experienced host for our Room Service Outlet within the Food & Beverage department.

You will work with the service team to deliver a flawless culinary experience, handle calls, take orders and coordinate with kitchen and wait staff. Requirements include completed hotel training and several years in upscale gastronomy, with excellent German and English language skills and a polished, guest-centric presentation.

Aufgaben

• Coordinate with Waiter/Waitress and Minibar Attendant to ensure seamless service.
• Take orders by phone and enter bookings accurately in POS for service and kitchen.
• Explain and upsell all food and drinks; offer alternatives when appropriate.
• Monitor utilities, supplies and waste; keep workplace clean and organized.
• Organise preparation and follow-up tasks; handle guest enquiries politely.
• Operate POS system competently as trained; assist with stocktaking.
• Supervise service and relay instructions to team as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Your motto is to be a perfect and endearing host to every guest. Together with the entire service team, you will ensure the culinary experience of our guests in our Room Service Outlet.

Your main tasks include:

• Coordinating with Waiter/ Waitress & Minibar Attendant.


• Responsible for taking orders by phone and correct booking in POS communication to service and kitchen.


• Active explanation and sale of all food/drinks offered as well as offering alternatives.


• Monitoring of utilities, supplies and removal of waste.


• Ensuring that the workplace and its surroundings are always kept clean and organised.


• Organising and carrying out preparation and follow-up tasks.


• Dealing courteously and efficiently with guest enquiries and complaints and reporting to supervisor(s).


• Competent use of the POS system to the level of training required in the department.


• Support with stocktaking of products and work equipment.


• Supervision of service and taking over instructions for the team.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Completed training in a comparable hotel and professional experience in upscale gastronomy


• Several years of experience in a similar position


• In addition to your impeccable appearance and well-groomed appearance, you impress with your natural charm, communication skills and knowledge of human nature


• Ability to work under pressure, flexibility and very high quality awareness


• Structured and organised way of working


• Great interest in team-oriented work


• Very good knowledge of German and English; any other language is an advantage
