Job summary

International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Geneva invites applications for a 12-month Operations Data Associate traineeship. This role helps turn programme data from conflict contexts into reliable evidence for donors and field teams, with emphasis on data accuracy and timely delivery.

You will work with data specialists, programme experts, and donor relations colleagues, exploring how Python, automation, and AI can enhance reporting. This is an ideal entry into humanitarian data work.

Qualifications

• University degree/related field and hard data skills.
• Excellent command of English.
• Up to 2 years of professional experience in data analysis, monitoring or reporting.
• Experience in humanitarian context is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the delivery schedule for partnership data requirements and ensure verified data reaches the Resource Mobilization team and other requestors on time.
• Extract, compile and validate ICRC programme data from institutional information systems and field sources, ensuring consistency with published figures.
• Support reviewing donor proposals and results frameworks, checking indicators can be monitored and data exists.
• Respond to ad hoc data requests from the field with tailored analyses and reports using Power BI, Python, R or AI tools where they add value.
• Test and document automation of reporting tasks and data processing for wider team.
• Ensure data shared externally or processed with AI complies with data protection and confidentiality rules.
• Act as the point of contact for partnership data requests within Operations Analytics and Reporting.
