Kronenhof Spa seeks a Head of Engineering to lead the technical team, ensure maintenance and safety across the luxury property, and manage all critical technical systems on site.

Ideal candidates have vocational technical training, several years in facilities management, and strong German/English language skills for a hospitality environment. This role is based at the Pontresina property and offers stable, full-time employment.

Qualificações

• Requires vocational training in a technical or skilled trade such as electrical engineering, HVAC, plumbing or comparable field.
• Strong technical expertise and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations and work in a structured, reliable manner.

Responsabilidades

• Maintenance & Operational Safety: Oversee maintenance of hotel operations and overall technical safety.
• Technical Management: Supervise handling, servicing and maintenance of all technical equipment, machinery, tools, alarms and pool facilities.
• Quality & Defect Control: Conduct regular inspections, report defects and coordinate resolutions.
• Supplier & Quotation Management: Obtain quotations, negotiate service contracts and coordinate external contractors.
• Leadership & Team Development: Lead technicians, onboard/train staff, and report to General Manager.

As Head of Engineering, you will work alongside your team to ensure the smooth operation, maintenance and technical safety of our prestigious, traditional hotel. If you are highly organised, technically skilled and possess strong leadership qualities, join us in making our guests’ stays truly unforgettable.Your Responsabilities:

• Maintenance & Operational Safety: Oversee the maintenance of the entire hotel operation and take responsibility for overall technical safety throughout the property.
• Technical Management: Supervise the proper handling, servicing and maintenance of all technical equipment, machinery, tools, alarm systems and swimming pool facilities.
• Quality & Defect Control: Conduct regular inspections throughout the hotel to monitor the condition of the property, prepare defect reports and coordinate the professional resolution of any issues identified.
• Supplier & Quotation Management: Obtain quotations, negotiate service contracts, coordinate external specialist contractors in the event of major damage and award contracts in consultation with the General Manager.
• Leadership & Team Development: Lead your team of technicians, oversee onboarding and ongoing training, conduct daily meetings and technical team meetings, and report directly to the General Manager.

This is you

• Education: Successfully completed vocational training in a technical or skilled trade, such as electrical engineering, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing or a comparable field.
• Experience: Several years of professional experience in a similar maintenance or facilities management role, ideally within the hospitality industry.
• Skills & Competencies: Strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, sound decision-making abilities in emergency situations, and a structured, reliable approach to work.
• Languages: Very good command of German and English. Additional languages are an advantage.
