Hyperscale Power GmbH in Switzerland is seeking a Grid Systems Engineer to design and develop the medium-voltage grid interconnection for a cutting-edge power conversion system. You will collaborate with Power Electronics, Firmware, and Test teams to ensure grid compliance across multiple markets from prototype to production.

The role requires hands-on prototype work, strong analytical skills, and a background in electrical power systems. Fluency in English is essential; German is a plus.

Qualifikationen

• BSc / MSc in electrical engineering, power systems engineering or comparable education.
• Experience in medium-voltage grid interconnection and utility-scale grid-tied power electronics preferred.
• Familiarity with grid codes and interconnection standards (IEEE 519, IEEE 1547, IEC 61850, IEC 61400, IEC 62933, VDE-AR-N, UL 1741).
• Hands-on prototype build, checkout and test experience.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to document results.
• Team player with ability to engage customers on technical requirements.
• Fluent in English; German helpful but not mandatory.

Aufgaben

• Design and develop the medium-voltage grid interconnection system and related equipment; prepare installation and maintenance instructions.
• Analyze equipment data and conduct experimental tests on grid-interface hardware under realistic grid conditions.
• Assess feasibility of new equipment or modifications for different grid levels and markets.
• Prototype construction and checkout of grid-interconnection subsystems for milestones.
• Compile operational data and prepare customer information for grid-tied deployments.
• Ensure compliance with grid codes and support certification processes with partners like UL, TÜV, IEC 62477.
• Collaborate with Power Electronics and Firmware teams on protection coordination and control strategies.
• Respond to customer/partner technical requests on grid interconnection requirements.
• Scale grid-interface design across markets from Alpha to Production readiness.
