Job summary

MSF Geneva invites applications for the International Medical Secretary (IMS) role, the most senior medical leader in MSF International. The IMS chairs the International Medical Secretariat and collaborates with the IP and ISG to align medical priorities with movement-wide goals.

The position oversees strategy, ethics, quality of care, and accountability across MSF International, guiding medical-operational priorities and representing MSF externally.

Qualifications

• Medical doctorate essential.
• Postgraduate qualification in public health, global health, humanitarian medicine, health policy, management, or a related field is desirable.
• Extensive senior leadership experience in complex international environments in medical humanitarian contexts.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic medical leadership to MSF International, including ethical oversight.
• Lead and steward collective medical-operational reflection and prioritization and strengthen coherence across bodies.
• Lead the medical-operational mutual accountability processes.
• Lead MSF’s international medical positioning on priority issues and represent MSF externally.
