Qualifications

• MD, PharmD, PhD or equivalent advanced scientific or medical degree preferred; relevant healthcare, learning sciences, or organizational development degree required
• 10+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, with significant experience in Medical Affairs
• 6+ years of progressive experience in capability development, Medical Excellence, talent strategy, or closely related roles
• Demonstrated expertise in competency framework design, capability architecture, and performance standards development in a global pharmaceutical context
• Strong understanding of Medical Affairs field roles, scientific engagement, and the Medical and Commercial interface
• Proven ability to influence and build consensus across senior stakeholders without direct authority in a complex, globally distributed matrix environment
• Experience working across Global, BU, Regional, and LOC Medical structures preferred
• Awareness of digital and AI-enabled learning technologies and their application to Medical Affairs capability development

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of Takeda Medical’s global competency frameworks, role archetypes, and what good looks like descriptors across all Medical roles
• Own the capability maturity model, defining clear progression standards and capability levels
• Continuously evolve the capability architecture in response to changes in the enterprise operating model
• Lead the translation of the Medical Affairs Vision 2030 agenda into a multi-year capability development roadmap
• Work with senior leaders to align the roadmap with enterprise transformation priorities
• Identify and integrate emerging capability requirements into the roadmap ahead of need
• Define clear, measurable performance indicators that translate descriptors into observable outcomes
• Partner to embed capability performance measurement in learning ecosystems and CXF platform
• Contribute to capability data structuring within the CXF program
• Engage with stakeholders to ensure frameworks are integrated across Global Medical Leadership and enterprise partners
• Support governance and external vendor relationships for capability development
• Manage approx USD 1-2M annual budget for external capability development spend
