Job summary

Porters is building an operating system for autonomous banking, enabling regulated processes with end-to-end AI-enabled workflows. The team is Zurich-based with options for remote work in Barcelona or Berlin, and a culture focused on shipping meaningful features quickly.

You will own outcomes, turn ambiguous problems into actionable requirements, and mentor a growing team while staying hands-on as an IC. This role supports in-person collaboration and remote collaboration across European hubs.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience in fast-paced environments.
• Hands-on builder who ships hard things and reasons in business outcomes and extensibility.
• Ability to write requirements and designs from business context and drive a project to completion in Linear or similar tool.
• Deep Python proficiency with REST API design and layered service-oriented architecture.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the highest-risk work yourself and set the technical bar for the team.
• Turn business goals into shipped projects with clear requirements, design, estimations and acceptance criteria.
• Design complex, extensible systems with loosely coupled components and a single source of truth for critical data.
• Scale team autonomy with defined decision thresholds, regulated data handling, and robust CI/CD pipelines.
• Improve customer outcomes by solving real problems beyond the request and measuring impact.
