ANAVIA in Switzerland is seeking a Flight Technician to support assembly, maintenance, preparation and operation of unmanned helicopter systems. This role involves hands-on work on aircraft and ground systems to ensure flight readiness and safety.

You will collaborate with Flight Operations, Engineering and Logistics teams to perform pre-flight checks, maintenance, troubleshooting, and mission support across international deployments.

Qualifikationen

Join us as a Flight Technician to support the assembly, maintenance, preparation, and operation of our unmanned helicopter systems.

You will work directly on the aircraft and its associated systems, supporting flight operations, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and international deployments. You will work closely with our Flight Operations, Engineering, and Logistics teams to ensure that our aircraft and ground systems are safe, reliable, and ready for every mission. This is a highly practical role for someone who enjoys working directly with aircraft, solving technical problems, and operating in a dynamic aerospace environment.

Key Tasks

Aircraft Assembly & Maintenance:

• Perform sub-assembly, final assembly, installation, removal, replacement, and repair of aircraft, payloads, and associated components in accordance with approved work instructions and quality standards.
• Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft and associated systems at ANAVIA's facilities and during international deployments.
• Perform inspections and functional tests of aircraft subsystems, payloads, and Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
• Support aircraft configuration, modification, and system integration activities.
• Ensure aircraft and equipment are maintained in a safe, serviceable, and flight-ready condition.

Flight Operations & Mission Support:

• Support pre-flight and post-flight inspections, aircraft preparation, system checks, and maintenance activities.
• Prepare and maintain aircraft, Ground Control Stations (GCS), data-link systems, payloads, and GSE for flight missions and flight-test activities.
• Work closely with Remote Pilots and Flight Operations during daily flight activities and test campaigns.
• Support aircraft ground handling and movement before, during, and after flight operations.
• Identify and resolve technical issues quickly to minimize operational downtime and maintain mission readiness.

Troubleshooting & Technical Problem Solving:

• Diagnose aircraft and system faults using appropriate test equipment, technical documentation, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Investigate system failures and malfunctions and contribute to root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Support engineering teams in identifying and resolving technical issues encountered during flight testing and operations.
• Provide practical feedback to Engineering and Operations based on hands‑on experience.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve aircraft reliability, maintainability, and operational processes.

Quality, Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure complete and accurate documentation and traceability of maintenance, inspections, repairs, modifications, and testing activities.
• Ensure all work is properly recorded, reviewed, and signed off in accordance with applicable procedures.
• Comply with ANAVIA's safety requirements, quality procedures, work instructions, and applicable aviation regulations.
• Follow appropriate procedures for the handling, storage, and transportation of Dangerous Goods.
• Inspect incoming parts and equipment as required and ensure that non-conformities are properly identified and reported.
• Maintain all GSE, tools, and technical equipment in a safe and operational condition.
• Apply 5S principles to maintain a clean, safe, organized, and efficient working environment.
• Collaborate closely with Flight Operations, Engineering, Logistics, and Manufacturing to ensure smooth and efficient mission support.
• Communicate technical issues clearly and proactively, particularly when safety, aircraft availability, or mission execution may be affected.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of technical procedures and work instructions.
• Support and, where required, deliver technical training for internal or external personnel.
• Share practical knowledge and experience with other technicians and operational team members.

Your Profile

• Completed technical education or apprenticeship in aircraft maintenance, aviation technology, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or a comparable field.
• Minimum 7 years of hands‑on experience as an aircraft technician in manned and/or unmanned aviation.
• Experience working directly on aircraft systems, assembly, maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with flight operations, flight testing, or aircraft deployments is a strong advantage.
• Experience with unmanned aircraft/UAS or helicopters is highly desirable.
• Good understanding of aircraft system integration, maintenance procedures, and technical documentation.
• Strong practical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, with experience using technical test and measurement equipment.
• Hands‑on, practical, and solution‑oriented mindset. Ability to work independently, take ownership of assigned tasks, and make decisions in a fast‑paced operational environment.
• Strong safety awareness and understanding of operational risk management.
• Valid driver's license.
• Team player who enjoys working across technical and operational functions.
• Willingness to travel internationally and work on‑site during flight campaigns and deployments.
• Proficiency in English. German desirable.
