Job summary

Andermatt Swiss Alps AG is seeking an experienced Director of Engineering for a luxury hotel project in Switzerland. The role leads technical teams, oversees MEP systems, and drives pre-opening testing and commissioning.

You will manage budgets, ensure safety compliance, and implement CAFM and preventive maintenance while coaching a high-caliber engineering team. You should have a federal diploma or degree in building services or mechanical/electrical engineering, plus significant hotel

Qualifications

• Need hands-on, solution-oriented leadership and calm under pressure.
• Swiss codes/standards knowledge (VKF/AEAI, SIA, SUVA) a plus.
• Experience as Director of Engineering in upscale hotels is required.

Responsibilities

• Act as operator’s technical representative toward developers, architects, and contractors.
• Lead testing, commissioning and acceptance of all technical systems.
• Manage snagging and defect lists to close-out.
• Secure as-built drawings, O&M manuals and warranty documents.
• Develop technical critical path, opening checklists and soft-opening tests.
• Build and train the engineering team, including on-call duty.
• Implement CAFM, preventive maintenance and SOPs.
• Ensure compliance with fire safety, health, hygiene, and legal requirements.
• Improve energy and water efficiency and support ESG reporting.
