Job summary

Bavarian Nordic is seeking an EHS expert at our Bern-Köniz site to lead occupational safety, health protection and environmental compliance. You will conduct risk assessments, incidents investigations and coordinate emergency response efforts.

Fluent German and English are essential, as you will train staff, maintain regulatory reporting, and partner with local and corporate teams to uphold Swiss EHS requirements.

Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Safety and Health Specialist with Swiss diploma (eidgenössischer Fachausweis) or equivalent.
• Several years of experience in occupational safety, health protection and environmental management.
• Fluent German and English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Act as the EHS expert for occupational safety, health protection and environmental compliance at the site.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable Swiss EHS legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses and workplace inspections to identify and mitigate EHS risks.
• Investigate EHS incidents, including accidents and near misses and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop, coordinate and maintain an effective emergency response organization.
• Deliver EHS training and promote a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization.
• Coordinate local and corporate EHS reporting and support hazardous waste management activities.
