Job summary

Bavarian Nordic is seeking an Environment, Health & Safety Specialist (f/m/d) for our Thörishaus site near Bern. You will drive occupational safety, health protection and environmental compliance, fostering a strong safety culture and ensuring regulatory adherence.

The role requires ASGS Swiss qualification, several years' experience, and fluency in German and English, with the ability to train staff and coordinate EHS reporting across the organization.

Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Safety and Health Specialist (ASGS) with Swiss Federal Diploma (eidgenössischer Fachausweis) or equivalent Swiss-recognized qualification.
• Several years of experience in occupational safety, health protection and/or environmental management.
• Strong knowledge of Swiss EHS regulations and EKAS Guideline No. 6508 (ASA Directive).
• Experience in risk assessments, incident investigations and implementation of preventive measures.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to train employees at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Act as the EHS expert for occupational safety, health protection and environmental compliance at the site.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable Swiss EHS legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses and workplace inspections to identify and mitigate EHS risks.
• Investigate EHS incidents, including accidents and near misses and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop, coordinate and maintain an effective emergency response organization.
• Deliver EHS training and promote a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization.
• Coordinate local and corporate EHS reporting and support hazardous waste management activities.
