Job summary

Lonza Group Ltd. is seeking a The Lab of the Future Lead (Director level) based in Basel to shape the future of laboratory operations. You will design, pilot and scale automated lab concepts across QC, R&D and manufacturing, driving digital integration and real-time analytics.

You will lead lighthouse projects, collaborate with diverse teams, and help evolve the manufacturing operating model while ensuring regulatory compliance and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Analytical Sciences or related field.
• Strong understanding of analytical testing and GMP requirements.
• Ability to translate QC and business needs into an integrated lab roadmap.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Define the Lab of the Future vision, roadmap and target operating concepts.
• Develop end-to-end concepts for highly automated and autonomous laboratories.
• Integrate workflows, analytical equipment, robotics, sample handling, digital systems and data.
• Align future laboratory concepts with QC, R&D, Analytical Development, platform and manufacturing strategies.
